Day 1: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata
We will leave the city of Cusco in our mobility, ascending to the heights of Paucartambo and along our journey we will observe the natural paradise of the Andes covered by snowy and the people of Paucartambo which is the capital of the folklore of Cusco continuing our journey to reach Ajanaco 3,560 meters where Manu National Park trip begins. Then, we will descend to the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, flowers, heliconias and many bromeliads, and to better observe the high jungle walk through a rough time and we will stop to witness the ritual of the peruvian national birds cock of the rocks (“Peruvian Rupicola”) and with luck we might see many birds and some mammals and in the afternoon we will arrive to our typical lodge of orellana expeditions.
Day 2: Pilcopata – Boca Manu – Humming Bird Lodge
After our breakfast we will continue our journey in our mobility for about an hour until the port of Atalaya, where we will get to our boat to navigate the high “Madre de Dios River” between 6-7 hours to get to our lodge, along our journey we might see a variety of birds such as herons, cormorants, kingfisher and many vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, king of vultures (Scarcoramphus papa) among other infaltables animals of the Amazon rainforest. At noon a brief stop in the native community of diamond to meet the indigenous people living in this typical village in the jungle, then we will continue our journey through the stunning high “Madre de Dios River” to the village of Boca Manu where we will have opportunity to visit and learn about the different activities that people engage. And just 20 minutes travel is our next lodge (humming bird ) with bathrooms and showers, optional trip walk at night).
Day 3: Humming Bird Lodge – Limonal – Machiguenga Lodge
Very early we will get to our boat riding onto the Manu River and begin to realize that Manu is so famous for the diversity of flora and fauna. this day on the river banks we will see different types of animals .Turtles, caimans, capybaras, and with luck the jaguar (panther onca . in the afternoon we will arrive at our camp “Casa Manchi ) After a short break we organize for our first walk in a primary forest to observe different mammals, and other animals who have never suffered persecution of hunting by men. Overnight in camp (beds) showers and toilets available.
Day 4: Machiguenga Lodge – Salvador Lake
we will dedicate the morning to visit “Salvador Lake” which is 20 minutes from our camp by boat and walk 15 minutes into the jungle. We will visit the COHA SALVADOR and use a “Catamaran” to give us the opportunity to observe the river otters and a variety of rare birds such as sultana cock, or agami heron and some alligators, later we will walk along the main trail to learn the operation and the secrets of the rainforest. Overnight in camp (optional hike-night). Machiguenga House is the lodge of the antive jungle comuniti of tayacome and yomibato and orellana epeditions work with those people of machigenga culture.
Day 5: Salvador Lake – Rain Forest
This day is for exploring the jungle and to observe animals , walking along one of the trails in search of mammals and macaws which are very beautiful coloured and this day we will have the opportunity to visit one of the best lake: “Salvador Lake” if in case we would be not lucky to see the giant otters on the previous day. And at night plow, our last walk in search of caimans and other nocturnal animals.
Day 6: Lodge – Otorongo Lake – Humming Bird Lodge
After our delicious breakfast we will get to our boat to visit the “Otorongo lake” we will going 40 minutes by boat to the and from a tower bes further to observe a river otters and stunning rainforest and unfortunate mind we will get to our boat and returning to our “Humming Bird Lodge” in the afternoon we will walk through one of our trails.
Day 7: Humming Bird Lodge – Aguas Calientes – Arpia Lodge
We will continue in returning by boat to our next LODGE and on the way we will make a stop to relax in the Hot Springs (optional) and along the upper river of “Madre de Dios”, we will have the option to see animals such as monkeys, birds and capybaras. Overnight in our lodge.
Day 8: Arpia Lodge – Atalaya – Cusco
This is unfortunately the last day in the jungle, we will return by boat to the port of Atalaya where we will be expecting our mobility. Continuing our journey to the city of Cusco. Arriving in the city of Cusco between 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
